The Electoral Reform and Lebanese Media

Maharat foundation raised again the issue of electoral media and advertising through “Civil Advocacy and Mobilization for Electoral Reform” project and reviewed the law implemented for the first time during the 2009 parliamentary elections.

Maharat published a monitoring study entitled: “The Electoral Reform and Lebanese Media” prepared by the dean of media faculty at the Lebanese University Dr. Goerge Sadaka and Dr. Ali Rammal and reviewed by lawyer Tony Mikhayel.

The study aimed to monitor how media covered the parliamentary elections and the required reforms that should be included to the electoral law to determine the role of media in the electoral reform process.
